I’m writing this letter out of pure love for ya’ll and for those who respect and have accepted me as apart of their culture. I have been looking at the ways that people have been seeing me lately and it’s safe to say I don’t like it. A lot of people have sh** to say about me and they don’t know me. I know I’m for the people and all, but I’m really getting pissed off at people speaking on my behalf. Finally, It’s my time to air it out. Y’all ain’t neva seen me like this before; y’all done did it now.

First, I AM NOT DEAD!!! I wouldn’t be able to write this letter if I was dead; I ain’t Casper, or a ghost writer for you die-hard faithfuls. I swear, I’m gonna get somebody to take out Escobar for starting that stupid rumor. If anything, people are killing my name by the things they do to make me look bad. Rapping about drugs, degrading women, and talkin’ about the same ol’ sh** is obviously gonna kill my image. For those who are wondering what happened to the old me, well I don’t know. The old me is still here, but nobody tries to show it, except the ones underground, and they’re never seen for obvious reasons. The thing that you hear about on the radio and all over is not me; it’s my cracked out twin little brother named Rap. People think we’re the same person and gettin’ us confused is gettin’ me tight. I would think you fans out there would understand that.

My other complaint is that the people who represent me (rappers) should be doing something to help the community. I agree that they should be responsible in sending out a message. When I was born, my moms, Music, raised my other siblings and me to express ourselves in a positive way for the people who would listen to us. I was doing that in the beginning, but then the people listening to me, mainly gangstas and Black & Latino people, came out and started making me look different. I went from looking like an artistic form for the people to a gun-tootin’, bitch bangin’, drug-dealin’ hustla. My moms was sad that I turned into that, and I tried to tell her people made me that way, but she just gave up on me. The rappers these days are just using me to get money and be rich. What can I do? I can only rely on the other true heads out there to bring my good image back, but most artists just want to destroy my name. It’s fu**** up.

I’m also not appreciating the pressure people are putting on me to address the issues happening in the ‘hood. I’m supposed to be Superman and save the ‘hood? I can’t save anything. I CAN help influence people to think and act differently, but ya’ll can’t put that entire load on my shoulders. Ya’ll fans need to start wakin’ up and seeing the way my brother is creating an image of how I’m suppose to look. I know that many of the youth listen to my brother and think that’s who I am, but you’re wrong! When people think Black people, they look right at me. I am NOT your culture. In the end, I get blamed for everything and the people are the victims. Bullsh**.

As long as rappers like 50 Cent (which by the way has made me look like a monster) make songs about gettin’ money, bitches, cars and clothes, people are gonna keep talking about me. And I realize there are some artists who make me look good, but don’t do anything to back it up, but that’s up to ya’ll to decide if they should be recognized or not. My image has been officially messed up and I don’t know what I can personally do to fix it. There are some community leaders figures who are trying to defend me, and I give them love for that, but the real deal is that you, my fans, have the power to change what I’m seen as. If you all would appreciate me for what I am and try to find to good side to my brother Rap, then we’d be good. So, for all you haters out there who think I’m destroying the youth and not leaving a good impression of the world today, look at yourselves and ask what you have done for your people and image today.
